Recombinant human GAD65 formulated with aluminum hydroxide (GAD-alum) [4] subcutaneously injected or intralymphatically injected as a prime and boost regimen has been evaluated in several placebo-controlled, randomized trials, in individuals either positive for islet autoantibodies (stage 1 and 2) or recently diagnosed with T1D (stage 3) [5–7]. Here, GAD2 is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
