The earliest genomic research on BC in Egypt focused on unraveling the role of genetic variations in the tumor suppressor genes BRCA1/2 and TP53 (El- A Helal et al., 2000; Hussein and Hassan, 2004; Swellam et al., 2004; Saleh et al., 2004) Other research focused on identification of novel BRCA1/2 variants and their role in early-onset and sporadic breast and/or ovarian cancer in Egypt (Abdel-Mohsen et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and breast cancer.
