Together, these data suggest that both FcγR- and complement-mediated effector functions of anti-Dsg IgG antibodies may also play a role in pemphigus pathology while removal of all IgGs regardless of their subclasses by anti-FcRn therapy has the potential to limit the effect of all pathogenic antibody functions, both Fab- and Fc-mediated, which may also translate into clinical benefits as demonstrated by these results. Here, FCGRT is linked to pemphigus.
