Sun et al. has shown that the combination therapy of Quiescin sulfhydryl oxidase 1 (QSOX1) and sorafenib sensitized HCC cells to oxidative stress by inhibiting activation of the master antioxidant transcription factor NRF2 and proposed QSOX1 to serve as a new therapeutic target in HCC or other types of EGFR-dependent tumors (Sun et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene QSOX1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
