Abnormal tau accumulation is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), Pick's disease (PiD), and frontotemporal dementia with Parkinsonism linked to chromosome 17 (FTDP‐17), which are collectively known as tauopathies (Lee et al., 2001). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and red-green color blindness.
