The different PKA isoforms associate with various ion channels as well, most prominently with voltage-gated K+ channels, while PKC isoforms associate with the transient receptor potential vanilloid channel 4 (TRPV4) (Fig. 7), which modulates the rate of CSF secretion [66] and has been implicated in hydrocephalus development in a rat model of genetically-induced hydrocephalus [67].
