Assessment of proinflammatory biomarkers showed that partial-methylated HeyL promoter was associated with the significant elevation of routine proinflammatory markers including platelet to lymphocytes (PLR) (P = 0.0213), CRP (P = 0.044), ferritin (P = 0.048), and D-dimer (P = 0.026) compared to those who showed unmethylated HeyL promoter in COVID-19 patients Table 3, Figure 4). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is COVID-19.
