Statistical analysis of our data showed that partial-methylated (strong methylated and faint unmethylated bands) HeyL promoter was significantly more frequent in COVID-19 patients 22 out of 30 (74.2%) compared to control healthy subjects 9 out 20 (26.3%), (OR = 3.3611 with confidence interval (CI 95% 1.0162-11.117) P = 0.047 as shown in Table 1. Here, HEYL is linked to COVID-19.
