Five genes involved in one-carbon metabolism (GART, MTHFD1, MTHFD2, ATIC, and SHMT2) were found to be overexpressed in tumorous samples in comparison with healthy controls, while FOLR2 owned significantly reduced gene expression alterations with -1.45 and -1.53 FC values in AD vs. N and CRC vs. N comparisons (p ≤ 0.05), respectively (Fig. 2). Here, MTHFD2 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
