Consistent with YAP acting as an oncoprotein, high YAP levels correlate with poor prognosis of ER− breast cancer patients (Fig. 1a)29; therefore, we were surprised to find that the publicly available clinical data indicate that high YAP levels correlate with good prognosis of ER+ breast cancer (Fig. 1b). The gene discussed is YAP1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
