A few meta-analyses have reported the association of ANRIL with IS; however, these meta-analyses have some limitations, such as failure to include all eligible studies [34, 43, 52, 65–68], no comprehensive analyses [66–68], confounding cases (patients with transient ischemic attack or other types of stroke were included in the IS samples) [34, 52, 65, 67], as well as wrong SNP loci [65] or errors in extracting and analyzing data [34, 65, 67], which could have influenced the overall results. Here, CDKN2B-AS1 is linked to transient ischemic attack.
