PIK3C2G and cancer: Our results showing that MMV652103 inhibits the PI3K and PI4K family members, PIK3C2G and PI4KB respectively are interesting because these lipid kinases play an important role in cancer metabolism and have been identified as druggable targets especially to overcome acquired drug resistance (Engelman, 2009[23]; Chu et al., 2010[16]; Li et al., 2010[48], 2014[49]; Pinke and Lee, 2011[67]; Boller et al., 2012[10]; Juvekar et al., 2012[36]; Martini et al., 2013[52]; Ilboudo et al., 2014[34]; Waugh, 2014[86]; Andrs et al., 2015[2]).
