Studies demonstrated that FASN levels were increased in paclitaxel-resistant hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (Meena et al., 2013), taxane-resistant prostate cancer (Souchek et al., 2017), cisplatin-resistant squamous cell carcinoma (Huang et al., 2012), paclitaxel-resistant laryngeal cancer (Xu et al., 2013), gemcitabine-resistant pancreatic cancer (Yang et al., 2011) and carboplatin/paclitaxel-resistant ovarian cancer (Ueda et al., 2010). Here, FASN is linked to familial pancreatic carcinoma.
