These data suggest an important role for insulin signaling/hepatocyte insulin sensitivity in regulating the liver circadian clock with important implications for maintaining blood glucose homeostasis, as well as how circadian disruption could effect metabolic homeostasis and contribute to metabolic disorders (e.g., metabolic disease, obesity and diabetes) (Fougeray et al., 2022). Here, INS is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
