The flavonol Galangin, obtained from Alpinia officinarum Hance and propolis extracts, was able to mitigate imiquimod-induced psoriasis-like skin inflammation in BALB/c mice via inhibiting pro-inflammatory mediators of COX-2, iNOS, NF-κB pathway and pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-17, IL-23, IL-1β in the skin as well as IL-6, TNF-α in both skin and serum. The gene discussed is NOS2; the disease is dermatitis.
