SCIN and breast cancer: BC increases the transcription of genes for cytotoxins that lyse immune cells (lukGH, hlgBC, α and β‐psms) (Collins et al., 2020; Tromp & van Strijp, 2020), for factors that inhibit complement (scin, sbi) (Sultan et al., 2018; Pivard et al., 2021) and prevent phagocyte recruitment (chemotaxis‐inhibiting protein chp), and are important for S. aureus survival in human blood and neutrophils (phospholipase C, plc) (White et al., 2014).
