A recently published study showed that activated peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors-γ (PPAR-γ) could augment the expression of Mertk in microglia and accelerate the clearance of hematoma after intracranial hemorrhage, suggesting that PPAR-γ may act as an upstream regulator of Mertk [19]. The gene discussed is PPARG; the disease is intracranial hemorrhage.
