Four ovarian cancer cell lines (PEO1, OVCA429, SKOV3, and HEYA8) representing the E, Intermediate E (IE), Intermediate M (IM), and M states along the EMT spectrum [23] (Additional file 2: Fig. S4A) were examined at the two classical E and M genes of the cadherin family – E-Cadherin (CDH1) and N-Cadherin (CDH2). The gene discussed is CDH2; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
