Consistent with our previous results, the addition of exogenous Gal-1 promoted H-1PV entry in the four glioma cell lines leading to an increase in the number of cell-associated viral genomes by 1.5- to 2.8-fold (Figure 9D), while not interfering with viral binding to the cell surface (Figure 9C). This evidence concerns the gene LGALS1 and central nervous system cancer.
