In present times, the H3R inverse agonist pitolisant (Wakix, Figure 1) is the only drug approved by the EMA for the treatment of narcolepsy with or without cataplexy and for obstructive sleep apnea, which has increased interest in the clinical applications of novel H3R inverse agonists or antagonists [4,5]. The gene discussed is HRH3; the disease is narcolepsy.
