In this study, we used a rat acute I/R-induced liver failure model to mimic biochemical (serum creatinine, MMP, TIMP, inflammatory markers such as TNF-alpha and IL-6, lipid peroxidation, and fibrosis) and histological (renal tubular damage as indicated by dilatation) changes observed in a hepatorenal syndrome. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and Renal insufficiency.
