INS and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease: Until now, four types of diabetes were known: Type I diabetes or insulin-dependent in which the body no longer produces insulin, type II diabetes caused by the inability of the pancreas to produce enough insulin needed by the body or the resistance of cells to its actions [1], gestational diabetes which is common in pregnant women and disappears after pregnancy [2] and type III diabetes, first introduced in 2005 which is associated with Alzheimer’s disease and has the characteristics of both type I and type II diabetes [3].
