PCSK9 and hypertriglyceridemia: Lycopene treatment on SD (Sprague–Dawley) male rats (5–10 mg/kg body weight/day for 10 days) with hypertriglyceridemia and oxidativestress (LPS-stimulated) was found to have downregulation of PCSK-9 (proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type-9) expression through HNF-1α (hepatocyte nuclear factor) where the LDLreceptor was increased due to elevated regulation of sterol regulatory element-binding protein-2 [59].
