Recently, Feng Lu et al. found that P. heterophylla’s cyclopeptides can ameliorate COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and reduces lung inflammation via the TLR4/MyD88 pathway; moreover, the 28-days animal test of 500 mg/kg purified extract (by oral administration) showed no toxicity [40]. This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
