Another group of sarcomas, BAF-deficient sarcomas, harbor mutations in genes of the BAF (also called SWI-SNF) complex: epithelioid sarcomas [27] and malignant rhabdoid tumors including atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (ATRTs) of the central nervous system (SMARCB1 mutations) [28], small cell carcinomas of the ovary, hypercalcemic type (SCCOHT), and SMARCA4-deficient thoracic sarcomas (SMARCA4 mutations) [29,30]. The gene discussed is BANF1; the disease is ovarian small cell carcinoma.
