CCN2 and coronary artery disorder: In these studies, activin A was associated with the presence of CHD with a sensitivity of 87% in a sample of 15 CHD patients [18]; CTGF was shown to be associated with RV dysfunction and valvular regurgitation in 33 patients with NET [19]; and, lastly, sST2 levels that were elevated at CHD diagnosis remained high during and after valve surgery, and only reduced after abdominal surgery for the primary NET [20].
