The univariate analysis confirmed the significance of the following factors influencing the appearance of the major cardiovascular event (MI or stroke) and death: diabetes (p = 0.02, odds ratio [OR] = 4.11, 95%CI 1.039–16.272), total cholesterol > 125 mg/dL (p = 0.0002, OR = 11.25, 95%CI 2.912–43.456), HDL cholesterol ≤ 40 mg/dL (p = 0.01, OR = 6.16, 95%CI 1.271–29.88), eGFR ≤ 55 mL/min/1.73 m2 (p = 0.002, OR = 6.79, 95%CI 1.842–25.033), hemoglobin ≤ 12.6 mg/dL (p = 0.003, OR = 18.37, 95%CI 2.275–148.376), and IGFBP-7 concentration > 2.40 ng/mL (p = 0.001, OR = 8.55, 95%CI 2.128–34.363). Here, IGFBP7 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
