Similarly, senescence markers are increased in models of steatohepatitis [67,68,69,70,71,72,73,74,75,76,77], whereas OxS and inflammation are particularly associated to the p53-dependent pathway [68,72,76], suggesting that this is an important mechanism of OxS-induced senescence and a potential mechanism in the development of NAFLD. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
