AMPH and Autoimmunity: Although some evidence for a pathogenetic impact of autoantibodies to intracellular antigens exists (e.g. for anti-amphiphysin [3, 5, 22, 27], anti-Yo [19], anti-recoverin [21] and anti-GAD65 [4, 7]), it has been proposed that in autoimmune disorders targeting intracellular antigens, T cell-mediated rather than antibody-mediated pathomechanisms may dominate.
