Interestingly, kidney clear cell carcinoma showed significant negative survival associations for 5 genes (TAS1R1, TAS2R4, TAS2R5, TAS2R14, and TAS2R20) and a combined group based on expression of these 5 genes, which suggests that this tumor type may be particularly well suited for a genetic risk screening tool based on TAS2Rs. The gene discussed is TAS2R14; the disease is clear cell renal carcinoma.
