Adding a stimulation of dendritic cells by Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) ligands to RFA further potentiated antitumor T-cell response: tumor spread to other organs was prevented, survival was significantly prolonged compared to single treatments, and animals receiving a secondary tumor cell injection did not develop any tumor (25), suggesting a memory immune response against the tumor (Figure 8). The gene discussed is TLR9; the disease is neoplasm.
