In a clinical study, anthocyanin supplementation alleviated diabetic patients’ hyperlipidemia and decreased their serum levels of LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, apolipoprotein (apoB-48 and apoC-III) while increased HDL cholesterol, improved antioxidant capacity, and reduced insulin resistance (Li et al., 2015 ▶). This evidence concerns the gene APOC3 and hyperlipidemia.
