Only two disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) have been approved for adult NDDs — edaravone for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and aducanumab for (AD) [8, 9] — and a limited repertoire of symptom-relieving therapies are available for patients with NDDs such as cholinesterase inhibitors for AD and dopaminergic agents for Parkinson’s disease (PD).
