Only two disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) have been approved for adult NDDs — edaravone for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and aducanumab for (AD) [8, 9] — and a limited repertoire of symptom-relieving therapies are available for patients with NDDs such as cholinesterase inhibitors for AD and dopaminergic agents for Parkinson’s disease (PD). This evidence concerns the gene BCHE and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
