Transient expression of Ve1Myc and Ve2FLAG confirmed that both cell surface receptors are functional and independently capable to mediate immunity to V. dahliae (DSM 11938) infection, as indicated by the lack of systemic symptom development in agroinoculated N. benthamiana leaves (Fig. 5d, e), and the fewest disease symptoms were observed with the co-expression of both tagged receptors (Fig. 5f).
