BRCA1 and breast cancer: Mutations in BRCA1/2 genes were detected in approximately 12%–25% of patients with high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSC) (Chao et al., 2016; Sakamoto et al., 2016; Walsh et al., 2011) while the prevalence of BRCA1/2 mutation was (3.7%–4.7%) in women with breast cancer, aged between 40 and 59 years (Buys et al., 2017).
