Multiple cancer predisposition genes, other than BRCA1/2 genes, have been identified during the last decade to the deliberate risk of breast or ovarian cancer, such as TP53, PTEN, CDH1, ATM, CHEK2, PALB2, and RAD50 (Apostolou & Fostira, 2013; Bradbury & Olopade, 2007; Kwong et al., 2020; Ripperger et al., 2009). The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is cancer.
