The five genes enriched for Parkinson’s disease (PD) were further annotated, and it was seen that except for PINK1 (our gene of interest), which was unique to PD, the remaining four genes were common to other neurological conditions like Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, oxidative phosphorylation, and metabolic pathways (Fig. 1B). This evidence concerns the gene PINK1 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
