Therefore, epigenetic modifications of immune cells can indirectly regulate the inflammatory state of the body and affect insulin resistance and insulin secretion dysfunction.In our review, we focused on summarizing the changes in immune-related epigenetic modifications in the context of T2DM, especially the epigenetic regulation of macrophages, T and B lymphocyte recruitment, proliferation, differentiation, and functional phenotypes. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
