ACE2 and colorectal adenocarcinoma: In this study, we demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 infection of non/low-mucus producing human colorectal adenocarcinoma Caco-2 cells (Navabi et al., 2013) results in the modulation of the CDH1 gene encoding the E-cad adhesion molecule as well as several other genes, including the gene encoding the virus receptor, ACE2.
