Next, based on the stratified cancer type analysis, CTLA-4 rs231775 polymorphism was found to be a risk factor for thyroid cancer and colorectal cancer; that is, in individuals carrying the G-allele, the risk of being diagnosed with cancer is increased; on the other hand, it proved to be a protective factor for liver cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, head and neck cancer, bone cancer, and pancreatic cancer, in other words, individuals carrying G-allele may have a lower risk of being diagnosed with cancer. Here, CTLA4 is linked to breast carcinoma.
