CD8A and COVID-19: Wang et al. having previously demonstrated a role for CD147 in facilitating SARS-CoV-1 infection of target cells [115], showed that antibody blocking of CD147 inhibited SARS-CoV-2 infection of model cell lines (Vero E6 and BEAS-2B), and SARS-CoV-2 Spike gene expressing pseudovirus [116] infected CD4+ and CD8+ T cells [114].
