TIMP2 and acute kidney injury: In this cohort study of 999 participants from a randomized clinical trial of critically ill patients with septic shock, in patients who developed AKI within 24 hours after enrollment, a urinary [TIMP-2] × [IGFBP7] level greater than 2.0 (ng/mL)2/1000 was associated with greater mortality risk at 30 days when AKI stages were defined by kidney function.
