VEGFA and hepatocellular carcinoma: Angiogenesis plays a vital role in the pathogenesis of malignancies through the production of pro-angiogenic molecules, of which vascular epidermal growth factor (VEGF) is one of the most relevant.[1] Further, anti-VEGF therapies have been developed as oncologic treatments, and play an important role in the systemic therapy of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC).
