Another study by Duong et al. [204] reported that NRF2-mediated silencing using siRNA reduced the level of aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family, member A1 and aldehyde dehydrogenase 3 family and member A1; as well as glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit expression leading to enhanced antiproliferative effects of the chemotherapeutic agent, 5-FU in pancreatic cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
