Note that TSPAN1 has been shown to play an important role in human pancreatic cancer cell migration and invasion, through modulation of the expression of the matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) via phospholipase Cγ[18], suggesting that silencing of TSPAN1 may be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of PDAC[18]. This evidence concerns the gene TSPAN1 and pancreatic neoplasm.
