Similar results were observed in some other studies, which found that TEAD4 could promote EMT in cancer cells, such as glioma, head neck squamous cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, etc [16, 37–39]. In our previous study, we found that metformin could inhibit the proliferation of BLCA cells by regulating the YAP1/TEAD4 complex [40]. Now, we systematically analyzed the potential biological function of TEAD4 in bladder cancer and found that TEAD4 was highly expressed in BLCA and negatively correlated with OS in BLCA patients. The gene discussed is YAP1; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
