A study in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) showed that TEAD4 expression promoted invasion, migration and EMT of HSECC cells and was significantly associated with poor prognosis in HNSCC patients [16]. Another study in lung adenocarcinoma found that TEAD4 hardly affected the proliferation, cell cycle and apoptosis of lung adenocarcinoma cells, but it could significantly enhance the invasion and migration via the EMT pathway in the cancer cells [17]. The gene discussed is TEAD4; the disease is cancer.
