MIG (CXCL9) is another chemokine that is considered to play a role in the interplay between neurons and glial cells, and binds onto the CXCR3 receptor which has been previously reported to be involved in the pathogenesis of various CNS conditions (e.g. multiple sclerosis, glioma, bipolar disorder) (Koper et al., 2018, Zhou et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL9 and multiple sclerosis.
