Among other promoters affected by FA was that of the CES1 gene, previously associated with Down’s syndrome (DS) (loss of 3.86% methylation in the treatment group vs. placebo); DUSP22 which shows alterations in schizophrenia (gained 6.24%); and the microRNA locus MIR4520A/B (lost 7.22%) which also showed changes in methylation in young adults with depression. This evidence concerns the gene CES1 and depressive symptom measurement.
