We found that Humanin protein levels were reduced by 36.58 % (P = 0.0155) in the plasma from AMD patients: 686.1 ± 52.67 (Mean ± SEM) pg/mL; n=10, compared to that in the plasma from age-matched normal subjects: 1082 ± 110.1 pg/mL; n=10 (Figure 1A). Here, MT-RNR2 is linked to age-related macular degeneration.
