We found that E-Selectin (Endothelial-Selectin)/ CD62E (CD62 (Cluster of Differentiation 62) antigen-like family member E) protein level was significantly higher by 77.1% in AMD plasma compared to normal plasma: P = 0.0293; Normal plasma = 1 ± 0.2215 a.u. (arbitrary units); AMD plasma = 1.771 ± 0.2484 a.u. (Figure 2A). The gene discussed is SELE; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
