Constitutively activated FGFR1 fusion proteins give rise to 8p11 myeloproliferative syndrome (EMS), also known as stem cell leukemia/lymphoma (SCLL), which can progress to acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia lymphoma (T-ALL), dependent on the fusion partner gene [5, 6]. The gene discussed is FGFR1; the disease is myeloid neoplasm associated with FGFR1 rearrangement.
