Activation of IL-1β signaling pathways promotes apoptosis, inhibits osteogenesis, activates osteoclasts, induces bone resorption and accelerates the progression of chronic inflammatory bone diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and periodontitis (Ruscitti et al., 2015; Cheng et al., 2020; Maruotti et al., 2020).
