Rather than developing autoimmune diabetes, the NOD-H2b/b mice develop SS (141, 167–169), whereas the NOD-H2b/b.Pdcd1-/- female mice are polyautoimmune; they develop spontaneous peripheral polyneuropathy, sialadenitis, pancreatitis, vasculitis, and gastritis (160, 166).
